The Northshore Human Services Consortium is a collaboration of community partners representing schools, parents, agencies, and organizations that come together regularly to find better ways to support the health and success of children and families in our community.

The  Northshore Human Services Consortium shares  the  vision of working together  to  promote  the health and emotional well-being of children and families in our community. This collaboration of community partners is focused on:

  • Children ready to learn and schools ready for children and youth

  • Accessible school-linked supports and services for students and families

  • Strengthening connections between families, schools and community partners to support learning and youth development.

The Consortium meetings are scheduled for the fourth Monday of each month from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM

Location:  Northshore Public Health Center located at 10808 NE 145th Street in Bothell.
For directions, call: 206-296-9787.

Bring a brown bag lunch and beverage. For questions about the consortium, email lhamilton@nsd.org

By working together, the community members hope to better identify needs, maximize resources, coordinate programming, eliminate duplication of services, leverage funding, and advocate for children’s health and welfare as a priority in community planning.

In  Participating Organizations you will find a brief description of the services offered and contact information for agencies and organizations in the Northshore Consortium.  This is a quick way to learn more about the services of these collaborative partners.

The Consortium has been meeting since 1993 and over the years has worked on a variety of programs:

  • Readiness To Learn is a school and community linked program at three schools in the Northshore School District.  These schools are piloting the use of a family resource advocate to make connections with families to assist children and youth with barriers to school success.  Bothell High, Frank Love Elementary, and Sorenson Early Childhood Center currently have this program.  This program uses advocates to access necessary support and services that families need.  The results are impressive!  Students show improvement in attendance, school performance and personal conduct.
  • 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant was developed with community partners.  Called  “Swing Shift”, it provides afterschool academic support and enrichment activites to students at the following elementary schools and junior highs:
Crystal Springs   Maywood Hills  Skyview Junior High
Lockwood Frank Love  Canyon Park Junior High
Canyon Creek  Shelton View  Woodin
Kokanee    Fernwood

  • Immunization and Health Clinics at selected schools with Evergreen Health Access Program.
  • Mentoring – a committee is currently working together to develop a comprehensive in-school mentoring program with Big Brothers, Big Sisters.
  • The Consortium is the Advisory Committee for the Drug Free Schools Grant awarded to the Northshore School District to promote prevention and provide intervention for school age substance misuse/abuse.
  • On-going networking and partnership to improve communication and coordination of programming and services.
